General Purpose Rating (GPR)	GP Rating Course also known as General Purpose Rating is an entry level course to join merchant navy as a Deck or Engine Ratings	26 Weeks (Six Months	Passport: All candidates must have a valid Indian Passport. Education Qualification: Minimum 40% marks from a recognized Board with English, Science and Mathematics as subject in 10th/12th. Or Minimum 40% marks from a recognized board 12th Standard (any stream) pass from government recognized board with 40% aggregate. English 40% at 10th / 12th but with subjects English, Mathematics and Science at 10th. Or Pass in 2 year ITI Course (Fitter / Machinist / Mechanic / Welder / Turner) approved by DVET / NCVT with minimum 40% aggregate marks in final year of ITI & minimum 40% in English in 10th / 12th.	Age Limit: Between 17.5 and 25 years on the date of commencement of the course. (a) A relaxation of 5 years (30 years) will be permitted in the upper age limit over and above the age limit prescribed above for candidates belonging to SC/ST of any part of country. (b) For candidates holding degree or diploma the maximum age limit would be 27 years. (c) A relaxation of three (3) years is permitted in the upper age-limit' over and above the age-limit stipulated for candidates belonging to Non-creamy layer of OBCs of any part of the country. Physical Standards: As per Merchant Shipping Medical Examination Rule 2000 and Merchant Shipping Medical Examination Amendment Rule 2016 as amended time to time. The candidates should be medically and physically fit. A full medical check-up through a Panel Doctor approved by D.G Shipping will be undertaken. A complete eyesight test will also be conducted in which the distance vision should be 6/6 with no colour blindness.

	Exact date of commencement of the course must be confirmed from JMNI office well in advance
	Fee for INDOs, CDC and Medical , will be Charged if applicable.
	Lodging and Boarding Charges are Rs 300/ = per day(if candidate using the facility)
